REAL NAME &nbsp,&nbsp, I have traditionally maintained both disposables for electronics that gradually run down the battery, and rechargeables for everything else.

Eneloops now take care of all my needs. The flashlight still works after sitting in a drawer for months and high discharge things need less charging too. Thanks to the low self discharge rate.

Because these have such a low discharge rate spare batteries do not have to be permanently tethered to the charger. Just charge them and set them on the side till needed. You will save some energy by unplugging your charger too.

TOP 500 REVIEWER &nbsp,&nbsp, The biggest disadvantage for Nickel Metal Hydride batteries is the counter life. I got gadgets and toys all around the house, so I constantly charging batteries to have them prepared when I need them. There will be little juice left if you put them in the counter unused for a couple of months. A waste of time and energy. Hence, one of the biggest advancement in battery technology is the arrival of the new low discharge Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. This is another great step in helping the environment. I have not many left of the old batteries since I started to replace all of them with low discharge batteries. Eneloops and Duracell are two of the best of its type.

Pros:
Low discharge.
Fine quality product. Well constructed
Conventional size and dimension.
You can use your present NiMh charger for these batteries

Cons:
More costly than common NiMh
Not available at many brick & mortar stores

REAL NAME &nbsp,&nbsp, Verified PurchaseWhat’s this? We’re talking about rechargeable batteries. I’m using the 1st one, and it works well with my Yamaha Pocketrak G 2 as an eneloop substitute. It works well so far but I dont have idea how long it’ll work. But it’s just a battery, what can happen?
